Church breaks 2,000 in worship for first time on non-Easter Sunday. Since inception, we have baptized over 900 new believers at Cross Pointe! Renovation of additional empty space into Preschool "Butterfly Island" worship area and indoor playground, bathrooms and meeting space is completed. "Rise to the Occasion" campaign begins, a 3-year journey to expand missions and ministry and retire existing debt. Over $5.8 million is committed.
Church shatters Easter attendance record with 1,000 more than ever before. Renovation of lower floor of Student Building into the CarePointe Community Center. New missions partnership is formed in Nicaragua. Inaugural Christmas Project in December serves more than 100 families in need.
Spring and fall Missions Days are the largest one-day missions events ever held by the church. In December the church holds The Christmas Project, serving more than 1,250 people and 325 families in need for the holidays. Expansion of CarePointe Center lobby to accommodate additional guests. New missions partnerships are formed in Costa Rica, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Honduras, and Washington, DC for future years. $3.1 million in "Rise to the Occasion" receipts have been received.
Cross Pointe celebrates its first 10 years through "The Year of X" emphasis. Pastor Merritt preaches through the life of Christ for the entire year. In May 2013, Pastor Merritt announces the launch of a second Cross Pointe campus in the coming year.
Cross Pointe begins "Be More", a three-year journey of ministry and missions expansion. $3.8 million is committed to these expansion efforts. Planning begins on expanded CarePointe and Children's facilities. In September, Cross Pointe launches Cross Pointe Mill Creek, a second campus meeting at Mill Creek High School (Hoschton/Braselton). Cross Pointe becomes one of the fastest growing evangelical churches in the United States (Outreach Magazine listing) and is recognized as one fo the top ten Southern Baptist churches in Georgia in membership involvement (Georgia Baptist Convention survey).
Cross Pointe holds Fan Day with special guest Coach Bobby Bowden in August, resulting in 159 decisions for Christ, a one-day record for the church. In December the church holds "12 Ways of Christmas", the largest holiday outreach in the church's history involving more than 550 volunteers.
In July our Mill Creek Campus moves into a new location at 7340 Friendship Springs Boulevard. In September our third campus comes online as the former Lanier Islands Community Church comes under the authority of Cross Pointe to become Cross Pointe Lanier.
