Handymen Ministry

Our next CP Serves is Saturday, December 9, 2017. We'll kick-off at 8:00 a.m. with a Chick-fil-a breakfast, prayer, team meetings and supply loading. Most teams will complete their projects by 12:30 p.m. A few teams will work until 1:00 or 2:00 p.m. Registration is online only and on a first-come, first served basis. Projects marked "team filled" are no longer open for registration. Choose a project below and click the link to register:


Gwinnett County Jail. Volunteers will honor members of law enforcement by hosting a catered luncheon at the jail while fellowshipping with the corrections staff. Interested volunteers may apply to minister to inmates in ongoing Bible study activities. (5-8 people) This project is full.


World Relief. World Relief Atlanta empowers the local church to serve the most vulnerable through activities related to employment and legal services as well as refugee resettlement. Volunteers will host refugees at a party and organize games for children. (10 people) This project is full.


Friends of Gwinnett County Seniors. Help seniors by performing yard work tasks such as: mowing, raking, trimming, and light maintenance. Bring your garden tools including rakes, shovels, trimmers, blowers, mowers, edgers, and trash bags. This is a great opportunity for families to serve together. (50 people)


Apartment Community Outreach. Host a gathering and minister to residents at a local apartment complex’s recreational room. (10 people)


Christian Library International. This ministry serves over 1,500 jails and prisons in all 50 states. The ministry provides Christian resources including Bibles, christian books, CDs, and audiovisuals. CLI also disciples inmates through a correspondence Bible study program. Volunteers will assist CLI in sharing the Gospel with inmates by volunteering in the Buford warehouse preparing and packing Christian resources. (10 people) This project is full.


Rainbow Village Holiday Event. We will host a Christmas party and pop-up gift shop at Rainbow Village for the residents. The children will choose gifts for their parents and volunteers will wrap the gifts. There will be music, a picture booth, and games for everyone. After the party, 5 to 7 chaperones will accompany the children on a shopping trip to pick out a few of their favorite things. (30 people) This project is full.


Feet on the Street. Join us in community evangelism at Renaissance Park in downtown Atlanta. Minister to our friends living on the streets. Activities include a BBQ lunch and distribution of hygiene kits. (50 people)


Mobile Food Pantry. Help to collect and sort food items. Volunteers are also asked to bring a items from their own pantry or to purchase items to help replish our supplies. Items include canned goods, sugar, flour, powdered milk and toiletries such as toothpaste, deodorant and feminine hygiene items. (25 people) This project is full.


Clothes Closet. Help us will sort, clean, and process clothes to make them available for clients in need. (20 people) This project is full.


Straight Street Impact Ministry (Lanier Campus). Help with critical need home repairs as well as general household and grounds maintenance for the elderly, widows, single moms, the handicapped and those in need, in the Flowery Branch area. (25 people)


Pregnancy Resource Center of Gwinnett. The PRC of Gwinnett helps women and their children, both born and unborn, as well as to the fathers who wish to be involved. We will serve with PRC as they settle into a new location. (15 people) This project is full.


Wellspring Living. Wellspring is devoted to safeguarding and empowering domestic trafficking victims and those at risk. We will assist with cleaning and reorganizing their Duluth resale store. (10 adult women) This project is full.


Emergency Responders Appreciation (Mill Creek Campus). We will assemble care packages to thank the local emergency responders for everything they do. (10 people) This project is full.


International Students Friendship Luncheon. Volunteers are needed to engage with international students from a local university. This will be a great opportunity to share our culture and learn about cultures from many different parts of the world. (10 people) This project is full.


Car Care for Single Parents. Those expereinced in auto maintenance and repair are needed to work on the cars of single parents, doing basic repairs and oil changes. We will also minister to the parents and entertain the children while they wait on their cars. If you know a single parent that may benefit from this service, please forward their information to Tori Jackson (15 people)


Path Project Community Outreach. Volunteers are needed to fill and distribute Christmas goodie bags to Path Project students in the local community. Volunteers are also needed to spruce up the community church space that Path Project uses to serve students. (20 people) This project is full.

Friends of Refugees Holiday Christmas Store and Kids Party. Join Friends of Refugees’ pop-up Holiday Christmas Store at Indian Creek Elementary School in Clarkston. Volunteers are needed to host a game and craft station for children while their parents shop. Volunteers may also donate new toys, books, balls, and winter wear for refugee children in Clarkston. (10 people)

TABLE Ministries. TABLE Ministries supports the homeless in our community. We will participate in the "Walk for Change" prayer walk scheduled for from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. All ages are welcome. We will begin with a brief presentation, followed by a community prayer walk and ending with a group project. (30 people)


Childcare for Sugarloaf Campus. Volunteers are needed to care for preschool-aged children. A background check is required. (10 people) This project is full.


Childcare for Lanier Campus. Volunteers are needed to care for preschool-aged children. A background check is required. (5 people)


CP Serves Volunteer Crew. Volunteers are needed to help with setup and registration on the day of the CP Serves event. (5 people) This project is full.
