Handymen Ministry

Our next CP Serves is Saturday, July 29, 2017. We'll kick-off at 8:00 a.m. with a Chick-fil-a breakfast, prayer, team meetings and supply loading. Most teams will complete their projects by 12:30 p.m. A few teams will work until 1:00 or 2:00 p.m. Registration is online only and on a first-come, first served basis. Projects marked "team filled" are no longer open for registration. Choose a project below and click the link to register:

 

Gwinnett County Jail. Honor members of law enforcement by hosting a catered luncheon at the jail with the corrections staff. Interested volunteers may apply to minister to inmates in ongoing Bible study activities. (5-8 people) Team full.

 

Backpack Love (Mill Creek campus). Unpack and display food and clean the facility at their location in Gainesville. (10-15 people) Team full.

 

World Relief. World Relief Atlanta serves the vulnerable through activities related to employment, legal services, and refugee resettlement. Volunteers will host Syrian refugees at a picnic and organize games for children. Participants must to provide transportation for the guests. (10 people) Team full.

 

Friends of Gwinnett County Seniors. Help seniors by performing yard work tasks such as: mowing, raking, trimming, and light maintenance. Please bring tools such as rakes, shovels, trimmers, blowers, mowers, edgers, and trash bags. Families can serve together. (50 people) Team full.

 

Apartment Community Center Fellowships. Host gatherings and minister to residents at local apartment complex recreational rooms. (10 people per complex) Team full.

 

Christian Library International. Christian Library International (CLI) is a prison ministry serving over 1500 jails and prisons in all 50 states. Volunteers will assist in sharing the Gospel with inmates by preparing and packing Christian resources. (9 people) Team full.

 

Rainbow Village Back to School Readiness Event – Rainbow Village transforms the lives of homeless families with children by providing a stable community and services. Volunteers will serve Rainbow Village residents and alumni by hosting a youth backpack drive. Other activities include a cookout,  a dental booth, face painting, and games. Famlies can serve together. (20 people) Team full.

 

Feet on the Street. Volunteers will minister to our brothers and sisters living on the streets at Renaissance Park in downtown Atlanta. Activities include a BBQ lunch and distribution of hygiene kits. (50 people) Team full.

 

Mobile Food Pantry. The Care Pointe Food Pantry serves the those in need within the local community by providing non-perishable food supplies. Volunteers will help to collect and sort food item. Volunteers are asked to bring a few items from their own pantry or to purchase canned goods, sugar, flour, powdered milk and toiletries such as toothpaste, deodorant and feminine hygiene items. (50 people) Team full.

 

Clothes Closet. The Clothes Closet provides members of the local community with clean and gently used clothing and household items. Volunteers will sort, clean, and process the clothes to make them available for clients in need. (20 people) Team full.

 

Straight Street Impact Ministry (Lanier campus). Volunteers will help with critical need home repairs as well as general household and grounds maintenance for the elderly, widows, single moms, the handicapped and those in need in the Flowery Branch area. (24 people) Team full.

 

Pregnancy Resource Center of Gwinnett. Volunteers will serve with PRC as they prepare to move to a new location. The main activity involves packing files, baby items, and off-season clothing. (12 people) Team full.

 

M28 Church. We will help M28 Church in Midtown Atlanta in reaching out to their local community through prayer, acts of kindness/service, church invitations, and evangelism. (30 people) Team full.

 

Gwinnett Probation Day Center. Volunteers are needed to teach a life-skills course to recently released individuals. (10 people) Team full.

 

Well Spring Living. Well Spring Living is an organization devoted to safeguarding and empowering domestic trafficking victims and those at risk. Volunteers will assist with cleaning and reorganizing the Duluth resale store. (10 adult women) Team full.

 

Emergency Responders Appreciation (Mill Creek campus). Volunteers will assemble care packages to thank the local emergency responders. (5 people) Team full.
