Join Pastor and Teresa Merritt for eleven incredible days of biblical and historical pilgrimage to the lands of the Bible, May 21-31, 2018. The cost from Atlanta is $5,000 per person (double occupancy), with a $500 deposit reserving your place. The trip is being operated by World Pilgrim Tours. Day 1, Atlanta. Group meets at Atlanta International Airport for flight to Amman, Jordan.

Day 2, Jordan. Upon our arrival at Amman Airport, we are met, assisted with luggage and taken by private, deluxe motor coach to our hotel for dinner and overnight accommodations.


Day 3, Petra. Breakfast at the hotel. A full day of sightseeing as we travel down the King's Highway to the incredible city of Petra, carved into the pink limestone cliffs. We see the Treasury, 3,000-seat Theater, a Palace Tomb in Roman style, a Monastery, and much more. In the distance we see Mountain Aaron, said to be the burial place of Aaron (Moses' brother). Return to Amman for dinner and overnight accommodations.


Day 4, Amman/Israel. Breakfast at the hotel. Our excursion takes us to Madaba, the City of Mosaics, home to one of the world's largest collection of mosaics. Madaba has the oldest map of Palestine known to exist. Nearby we will visit Mt. Nebo, the memorial to Moses and presumed to be the site of his death and burial. Later we cross the border into Israel. Our first stop in Israel is the ruins and excavations of ancient Jericho, and Elisha's Fountain. The Inn of the Good Samaritan is nearby. We see the Mountain of Temptation where Jesus was tempted by the devil. Then, a visit to Qumran, an ancient Essene community where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found hidden in caves. Next, the Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth, and from there we take a cable car to Masada, the stronghold of Jewish zealots who committed suicide rather than surrender to the Romans. We will also visit the ruins of Beit Shean before continuing to Tiberias for dinner and overnight accommodations. This is a full day of touring!


Day 5, Gaililee. Breakfast at the hotel. A boat ride on the Sea of Galilee, after which time is given for worship and prayer before continuing to Capernaum, the center of Jesus' ministry. We stand atop the Mount of Beatitudes, and site of the Sermon on the Mount. We visit the site of the multiplication of the loaves and fish. Weather permitting, we will have a baptism service in the Jordan River. Then back to Tiberias for dinner and overnight accommodations.


Day 6, Tiberias/Jerusalem. Breakfast at the hotel. Today we visit Nazareth, the boyhood home of Jesus where he helped in his father's carpentry shop. We will go inside the Church of the Annunciation, the supposed site where an angel told Mary she would bear a Son. In the afternoon we continue to Megiddo, the biblical site of the coming battle of Armageddon, where we will also see Solomon's stables and the water tunnel. We will see Mt. Tabor, the site of the Transfiguration. Next it is on to Haifa, Mt. Carmel and the beautiful Bah'ai Temple and Gardens. We visit Caesarea, an ancient Roman city with an aqueduct built by Herod the Great in 22 BC. Here, Cornelius was baptized by Peter, and Paul was brought to trial. A full day of touring! Dinner and overnight accomodations in Jerusalem.


Day 7, Bethlehem. Breakfast at the hotel. Our first stop this morning is Bethany, where we visit the New Church built over the House of Mary and Martha, and Lazarus' tomb. Our sightseeing also takes us to Bethlehem to the Church of the Nativity, built over the grotto where Jesus was born. Time is given for visiting olive wood shops in Manger Square. We then visit the shepherd's fields and Rachel's Tomb before returning to Jerusalem for dinner and overnight accommodations.


Day 8, Jerusalem. Breakfast at the hotel. We drive to the top of the Mount of Olives for a panoramic view of the Old Walled City. Then, it's a walk down the Palm Sunday road to the Church of the Ascension, the Church of All Nations, and the Garden of Gethsemane. In the afternoon we'll have an excursion to Mount Zion for a visit to the Room of the Last Supper, Caphias' House and the Tomb of King David. Close by is the Pool of Bethesda. Wear comfortable walking shoes for this afternoon's sightseeing inside the Old Walled City. We will also visit the Western Wall (Wailing Wall), the Temple Mount, and outside the Dome of the Rock. We will follow the Way of the Cross to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre and Calvary. A full day of touring. Dinner and overnight accommodations in Jerusalem.


Day 9, Jerusalem. Breakfast at the hotel. We will have a special morning worship service at the Garden Tomb and Calvary. We will then go again into the Old Walled City to the Cave of Betrayal of Jesus and Tomb, the Chapel of Flagellation, the Chapel of Condemnation, walk the Lithostrotos, and view Antonio's Fortress. Then we travel down to the Valley of Elah where David fought Goliath. Dinner and overnight accommodations in Jerusalem.


Day 10, Jerusalem. Breakfast at the hotel, followed by a day of leisure or sightseeing on your own.


Day 11, home. Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the Tel Aviv Airport for our flight home with suitcases packed full of memories!
