Gwinnett County Police Back to School Festival. Cross Pointe is working with the Gwinnett County Police to host a back-to-school festival for the community! Hundreds of members of the community will be coming to Cross Pointe to enjoy the festivities. We will need volunteers for a variety of projects including set up and break down. This event will take place in the church parking lot. (80 people) This project team is full.
International Coffee Hour. Every year, students travel to the United States as they seek higher education. Many are looking for native english speakers to help them increase their strength in conversational english. Volunteers on this team will be connected with a student to talk with and encourage! You don’t need any special skills, just a willingness to make a new friend. (15 people) This project team is full.
Apartment Community Outreach. Brighten the mornings of those living in a local apartment community by serving breakfast and ministering to residents. This is a great way to love Cross Pointe’s neighbor! There are two project shifts: 10:00 a.m. to noon, and 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. (25 people, 10 for first shift, 15 for second shift)
TABLE Ministry. Serve TABLE Ministry by helping with their Closet Cleaning Party! Volunteers will help TABLE get organized so that they can continue to effectively serve the “Hidden Homeless” in Gwinnett County. There is a specific need for people who can lift heavier items as well as people with trucks/SUVs that can be used for transporting large items. (10 people)
Rainbow Village. Join Rainbow Village’s annual Back to School Party! The mission of Rainbow Village is to break the cycle of homelessness, poverty, and domestic violence. Volunteers on this team will have opportunities to serve this community by grilling, running various activities and celebrating a new school year with the residents of Rainbow Village. (30 people) This project team is full.
Car Care for Single Parents. We will be offering basic car care to single parents in the area. Those who are experienced or interested in basic car maintenance are needed as well as those who can minister to the parents and children. (10 people). This project team is full.
Mobile Food Pantry. Join our Care Pointe Team as we host a Mobile Food Pantry! There will be hundreds of people coming to Cross Pointe to get the supplies they need. (50 People) This project team is full.
Mobile Food Pantry Evangelism Team. As many gather for the Mobile Food Pantry, we know there is an enormous spiritual need that we can meet. This team will have conversations with those who respond to our Gospel presentation. (10 people)
Clothes Closet. Volunteer in Care Pointe’s clothes closet to help provide members of the Gwinnett Community with supplies they need. (20 people)
Feet on the Street. Head to downtown Atlanta to serve with Cross Pointe’s Feet on the Street Team! This team will prepare and serve lunch to the homeless community living in Hurt Park. (30 people)
Sugarloaf Event Volunteer Team. Serve those serving by helping set up and run the CP Serves breakfast and sign in at the Sugarloaf Campus. (8 people) This project team is full.
Sugarloaf Childcare Volunteer Team. Volunteer to serve volunteers by providing childcare! All childcare volunteers will need to complete a background check. (15 people)
Mill Creek Campus Specific Opportunities
Foster Care Support. Support the many foster families around Georgia as children prepare to go back to school by putting together backpacks! These backpacks will be given to children currently in foster homes and will also be saved for children who are placed in foster care throughout the year who will have to start all over. (15 people) This project team is full.
Bogan Park Outreach. We will be hosting a booth at Bogan Park during a health fair! This will be a great opportunity to meet people from the community and invite them to join us for Fan Day! There will be two teams for this opportunity. One will serve from 9:30 - 11:30 am and the other will serve from 11:30 - 1:30 pm. (10 people – 5 per shift)
Gwinnett County Reentry Intervention. We are beginning to work with the Gwinnett County Jail Reentry Intervention Program to create care packages for ex-offenders as they reenter society. Many reentering face great uncertainty. By providing these gifts, we can fill some of the needs these individuals face in the early days of their transitions. (15 people)
Emergency Responder Appreciation. Every day emergency responders serve to protect our community. We want to take an opportunity to give back, so this CP Serves we will be bringing care baskets to fire stations around Hall County. Teams will write notes to the emergency responders before heading out to the various locations. (8 people – 2 teams)
Christian Library International. Help prepare books and other resources to be sent to correctional facilities for inmates to learn more about what it means to follow Christ. (10 people)
Mill Creek Event Volunteer Team. Serve those serving by helping set up and run the CP Serves breakfast and sign in at the Sugarloaf Campus. (3 people)
Mill Creek Childcare Volunteer Team. Volunteer to serve volunteers by providing childcare! All childcare volunteers will need to complete a background check. (3 People)
Phillips State Prison (July 26). Honor the staff at Phillip State Prison by serving lunch and thanking the staff for their service. We will be cooking out burgers and hotdogs and ministering to this staff that faithfully serves at Phillips State Prison. The team will meet at Phillips State Prison at 9am. (10 people) This project team is full.
SEND Relief Backpack Packing Party (August 2). Join our mission partners in Clarkston as they host a Backpack Packing Party from 9:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. We will put together backpacks that will be handed out on August 3rd to refugees living in Clarkston.
