Pastor Merritt announced that Cross Pointe will resume in-person worship in September. Here is the timetable:
September 20. In-person worship offered for everyone at 9:15 a.m. only. Online worship will continue simultaneously and at both hours (9:15 and 11:00 a.m.) The in-person service at 9:15 a.m. will be a family service--no separate preschool, children's or student ministries will be open yet.
Our in-person services will include some safety measures, to be announced. We will continue with one service, in-person, for several weeks, before expanding our in-person offerings to include things like nextgen ministries and adult groups.
Mid-October. We plan to begin NextGen (preschool, children and student) in-person ministries on Sunday mornings, based on successful results of our in-person adult services. We'll announce details of these plans as we observe our adult services moving forward.
Please do not come if...
We continue to care for our vulnerable population. If you are in a vulnerable group or have a pre-existing condition, we ask that you continue to worship from home at this time. We'll continue to provide an enhanced experience online with live chat, live sermon notes, and fill-in-the-blanks through our new mobile app.
Q&A Moving Forward
Why only one service? The vast majority of churches that have already opened are experiencing diminished attendance. We believe one service will be adequate at the outset.
Why no preschool, children's or student ministries at first? We are taking a phased approach to moving forward, and will add these ministries after a number of weeks of in-person worship.
Can I bring my whole family to worship? Yes, you can. We encourage you to bring your children and teens to worship. We'll have some seating for parents with small children also set aside.
What kind of coronavirus precautions will be in place? We are finalizing those details now and will post them to this page soon. We will also have some new features, like our mobile app, that allows a more touch-free environment for taking sermon notes, giving, and responding to the service.
What about adult small groups at the church? For the immediate future adult small groups will not meet at the church. We hope to bring these back soon after we launch in-person worship.
