Paul wrote this letter from the city of Corinth to the church in Rome. Paul wrote to a church that was experiencing a time of relative peace, but a church that he felt needed a strong dose of basic gospel doctrine. Paul was in the city of Corinth, which was another hotbed of sexual immorality experiencing a lot of the same issues. So, he experienced this and was surrounded by this every day. The big idea running throughout the book is that the Gospel has the power to save all.
