CP Preschool is a ministry created just for babies and little kids! It is a place filled with exciting environments designed to create a fun place for our youngest children to learn about God. Engaging teaching methods combined with awesome volunteers who care about kids make CP Preschool a place where parents can know their children are building strong spiritual foundations. Our ultimate goal is that all kids would know Three Basic Truths: God made me, God loves me, and Jesus wants to be my friend forever.
Sunday Mornings in CP Preschool
We provide two age-appropriate environments for your kids:
NURSERY
We know that leaving your new baby or toddler for the first time can be challenging. The volunteers in our nursery, crawlers, and toddlers classes have been chosen for these rooms because of their love of babies. You can worship knowing your child is being well cared for and loved on by our very experienced team. Please bring diapers, bottles, pacifiers and any other items that your child needs. Make sure all items are labeled. Extra name labels can be printed at the check-in desk if you need them.
We serve a variety of crackers in both the crawlers and toddlers classes. If a new snack is served, we will post a sign at the door alerting you of the change. Be sure to communicate with your child’s teacher, as well as write any allergies or special instructions for feeding, napping, or potty-training in the check-in notebook at your child's classroom door. Allergy and Potty-Training Alert Stickers are available to put on your child.
We promote based on development in this age group. So, when the babies start crawling they will move up to crawlers, and when they start walking, we will move them up to toddlers. If you would like to know what your child is learning about this month, be sure to pick up a parent cue card at the door of your child’s classroom.
PRESCHOOL
It is our desire that when a child promotes to the Children’s Ministry, they would know Three Basic Truths: God Made Me, God Loves Me, and Jesus Wants to be my friend forever. While in CP Preschool, your child will participate in a variety of activities that reinforce a weekly Bible story and our monthly bottom line, which is built upon one of these Basic Truths.
Sunday mornings are divided into three segments. When children come in, they will be welcomed with our Arrival Activities, which are designed to engage preschoolers and prepare them to hear the weekly Bible story. Next, they will travel to their Large Group, Butterfly Island. In Butterfly Island preschoolers are encouraged to dance and sing during worship, act out their memory verse and participate in an interactive Bible story. When they return to their room, they will participate in Small Group Rotations. These rotations include creative crafts, games, reviewing the Bible story, prayer and snack.
Each Sunday, we serve a variety of crackers with water for snack. If a new snack is served, we will post a sign at the door alerting you of the change. Be sure to communicate with your child's teacher any allergies or special instructions for potty-training. Allergy and Potty-Training Alert Stickers are available to put on your child.
Please label all your child's belongings. Your child will promote to the next classroom based on the school calendar. Promotion takes place in the Fall.
A Safe Place to Be
Your child's safety is just as important to us as it is to you. In CP Preschool, we go to great lengths to create safe environments so that you and your kids have a great experience. From matching parent and child security tags to every volunteer being screened with an interview and a federal background check, we make sure that all our kids are learning about God in the safest environment.

PRE-REGISTER YOUR CHILD
If you are planning a visit to Cross Pointe, you can pre-register your child for Sunday morning. You can provide important information, including allergies and special needs, that will help us prepare to care for your child. When you arrive, your information will already be in our system and it will speed your check-in experience.
Want to Join the CP Preschool Team?
Every Sunday, volunteers show up to serve in preschool. They are critical players on our team! They use their passions and gifts each week to supplement every parent's efforts in laying a spiritual foundation for their children. By doing so, together we are raising up the next generation of Christ followers. There is nothing like being part of the force that is shaping the future of Cross Pointe--and our world! We would love to talk to you about joining our team.
Well Child Policies
As we prepare to return to CP Preschool, it is important to recognize that reopening our Preschool Ministry is very intentional. With careful planning and lots of love and care, we will navigate this transition while making it safe and inviting for kids, their families, and volunteers.
Even during “normal” times, we have a strict schedule of hygiene and cleanliness for all classrooms. Due to the current circumstances, we want you to know that we are taking extra precautions to help ensure that your child has a healthy environment and that we continue to be a place that parents can trust.
Our Part
Everyone entering the Preschool Hall will be required to clean their hands upon entry.
We are ensuring the availability of hand sanitizer for the workers and children.
Our check-in stations will be manned by a volunteer for minimal shared surfaces.
In Small Groups, we will do our best to maintain smaller ratios and allow extra free space for children to play. In Large Group, we will be marking areas six-feet-apart for children to stay on individually throughout worship and the Bible story.
We will do our best to avoid activities that involve close interaction between children.
We will no longer have children searching through the birthday box. Children will now receive a prepackaged gift during their birthday month.
Volunteers, parents, and children will be required to undergo temperature checks before they enter the Preschool area and will also be required to wear face masks if over the age of two years.
Your Part
Children and volunteers should not attend CP Preschool if they have any of the following symptoms:
Known exposure to Covid-19 in the last 10 days
Runny nose or cough
Fever of 100 degrees or higher within the last 36 hours (without fever-reducing medication)
Vomiting or diarrhea within the last 24 hours
Any rash that is suspected to be contagious or is without known-cause
If your child is prescribed an antibiotic, they must have been on the antibiotic for a minimum of 48 hours prior to attending, as well as show no other spreadable symptoms
Thank you so much for your adherence to this wellness policy. If you have any questions concerning this policy, please don’t hesitate to ask for more details.
